With more than 130 years of tradition, over 1,000,000 members world wide admitted since its founding, a vast array of service work, an historic National Headquarters building with extraordinary collections, and countless activities taking place locally, nationally and globally, there is much to learn about the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The organization was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. These timeless, overarching principles keep the DAR strong and vitally relevant in this ever-changing world. Click here for detailed information on DAR membership.
Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. Click here to see if you are eligible.
Are you unsure of where to begin? We will help you navigate the application process, including genealogical research. Our registrar is willing to assist you and to answer any questions that you may have.
We welcome visitors at all meetings. Our chapter meets on Saturdays to better accommodate working and student members. Our calendar is available from the link above.
